Skeet

On my last post I talked briefly about the different types of sporting clays. This week I’m I going to touch a little about skeet. In skeet you shoot 8 different areas, moving in a half circle in counter clockwise. On a skeet field there are two trap houses (buildings that fling clay disks), one on the left (High House) the other on the right (Low House). “See attached pictures”. Out of the three games, skeet is one of the most challenging games to learn and master. The reason is, four of the eight stations fire off true doubles (targets fired from both houses at the same time crossing each other in the middle).

  2. Interesting. Where can you do this locally? Can you just show up with a shotgun and shells? What size shot is normally used?

    1. Charlotte rifle and pistol club in Waxhaw. Anyone can show up to shoot. You can bring your own shotgun or rent one there, same with (buy) ammo. if you provide our own shotgun & ammo the price is $6 per round.
